Siam (Thailand) 1917 Postage Stamp Issue, Permanent

Scope & Content: This section documents aspects of the Siam (Thailand) 1 January 1917 Definitives issue. Designed by C. Tamano, these stamps were redrawn by Waterlow and Sons Limited, London using a recess printing process.  The designs depict two different portraits of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI). Includes comments about the production and printing techniques contributing to the broader study of early Siamese philately.

Extent: 13 Pages; 119 Items

Physical Characteristics: The entirety of the Row Collection includes various physical formats including postal stationery, covers, essays, proof materials, postage stamps in singles, pairs, strips, blocks and sheets in addition to errors, shades and varieties. It has been arranged and written up on pages to describe the philatelic history of the nation's stamps and their manufacture.
