"Philosopher's Union Member's Mouthpiece #00,001: Alan Rabbit Suit": Londoner Stefan Szczelkun proposed a Philosopher's Union back in the mid to late 1980s to John Berndt. John passed the idea along to me. Since this was roughly contemporaneous w/ the invention & short life of the PXL-2000 'toy' camcorder, I instigated a series of movies made using this camera by myself & whomever else of single c/u shots of mouths talking about their philosophies - all in the spirit of "KEEP THINKING LIVE". The 1st 20 were all made of friends of mine in BalTimOre. Alan Rabbit Suit's was the 1st one I made of a projected 50,000 - 72 have been made to date. Shot in early 1988 - w/ some effects & titling post-production added shortly thereafter. Since the PXL used audio cassettes as its video cassettes, I Iimited most of the Mouthpieces to one side of a tape - wch at PXL speed amounted to roughly 5:50 per person. Alan Rabbit Suit was a friend I'd known for 10 years. He was my roommate at the time. He was a revolutionary communist & a poet & had been one of the people running a 'phone station' as part of B.U.T.N. (Baltimore Underground Telephone Network). - August 14, 2017 notes from tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE
