Hearing on the Quiet Skies Program and Airport Security : CSPAN2 : October 2, 2025 9:09pm-10:51pm EDT

Federal law enforcement, policy advocates and journalists testified to the perceived weaponization of the Quiet Skies Program, an airline passenger screening program, before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Mark Crowder, a federal senior air marshal, testified to his experience with airport security and spoke on his wife's experience being added to the no-fly list for allegedly being in the U.S. Capitol building during the January 6 attack. Several topics were addressed during the hearing, including the perceived targeting of those who were associated with the January 6 attack on the Capitol and those who refused to wear face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, a lack of transparency over the watchlist, and the intent of Quiet Skies Program. They also touched on reports that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was targeted for increased airline screening and undercover surveillance at airports prior to the 2024 election.
