Unfortunately, it appears the Fund was consumed by the DOD "Military Retirment Fund" (MRF) as part of the Military Retirement System (MRS) overseen by the "MRF Financial Management Committee" (FMC), which claims that the "Defense Finance and Accounting Service" (DFAS) is responsible for the accounting, investing, payment of benefits, and reporting of the MRF" https://comptroller.defense.gov/Portals/45/Documents/afr/fy2024/DoD_Components/2024_AFR_MRF.pdf Confused yet?? Well things get simpler when you understand that neither the "Military Retirement Fund" (MRF), nor the "Military Retirement System" (MRS) exist in law. Instead, these entities appear to be the creation of the administrative state, as a way to embezzle military retirement pay into an investment vehicle to enrich MRF managers, not the servicemember.
