M.C. Migel Memorial Collection

The M.C. Migel Memorial Collection at the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) is the largest research and preservation library on non-medical aspects of visual impairment in the world. Established in 1926 by the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), the Migel Collection was acquired by APH in 2009. The collection contains items on aging, orientation and mobility, education, employment, and rehabilitation. It also includes a collection of items relating to deaf-blindness, fictional titles that feature visually impaired characters or authors, non-English language books on Helen Keller, and the only known collection of music-by and materials-about musicians who are visually impaired.
