This study examines global sustainability standards and their integration into the economic strategies of nations and businesses. Key elements of international standards – environmental safety, social justice, and corporate governance – were identified as central to shaping global economic interactions. These standards significantly influence economic activities by promoting transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability. This research focuses on Georgia, Kosovo, and Uzbekistan as illustrative cases of countries at different stages of implementing sustainable development standards. Georgia, with its active European integration, exemplifies efforts to align with EU sustainability norms. Kosovo, while facing significant economic and political challenges, is advancing sustainable energy reforms. Uzbekistan, a transitioning economy, has prioritized environmental practices in its agricultural and industrial sectors. The study highlights how these nations are navigating the integration of global standards, addressing challenges such as financial and resource limitations, weak regulations, and inadequate infrastructure for waste management. The findings underscore the broader impact of sustainable development on international economic relations, offering insights into how countries adapt to global norms to achieve long-term economic stability.
